Frequently Asked Questions

Clear answers on how Google CID numbers operate, why they are essential for Local SEO, how to configure Schema hasMap tags, and how to use our bulk batch tools.

1. What is a Google CID number?

Google CID stands for Customer ID (internally known as ludocid). It is an immutable, 64-bit numerical identifier that Google assigns to every verified Business Profile. Even if the business changes its operating name, relocates to another city, or updates its phone number, the CID remains permanently bound to the profile entity.

2. How is a CID different from a Google Place ID?

Place IDs (starting with ChIJ...) are alphanumeric tokens created primarily for developers making calls to the Google Places API. Google explicitly notes in developer documentation that Place IDs may be refreshed or superseded during database mergers. A CID number, however, is a permanent database record ID that directly represents the Knowledge Graph node for that business.

3. Why should I use a direct CID link instead of a Google Maps search?

When you share a standard search link like google.com/maps/search/My+Store, Google evaluates the searcher's physical location. If a user is located near a competitor or another branch of your store, Google will display competitor pins and sponsored map ads. A direct CID link (https://maps.google.com/?cid=11401689387182079980) bypasses search algorithms entirely and locks directly onto your exact profile.

4. How does Schema.org hasMap with a CID boost Local SEO rankings?

Google's web crawlers and Google Maps algorithms operate as separate systems that sync through entity reconciliation. By declaring "hasMap": "https://maps.google.com/?cid=YOUR_CID" inside your website's LocalBusiness JSON-LD schema, you establish an authoritative, machine-readable declaration that explicitly connects your website domain to your Google Maps listing. This removes ambiguity and gives Google high confidence to rank you in the Local 3-Pack.

5. What is a Hexadecimal CID and why do some URLs start with 0x?

Internally, Google stores 64-bit unsigned integers in hexadecimal format. For example, the decimal CID 11401689387182079980 converts to hex 0x9e3af016c2543fec. Google frequently embeds this hex value in complex URLs and JavaScript bundles. Our tool provides bidirectional conversion so you can switch between decimal and hex formats instantly.

6. Can I process multiple business profiles simultaneously?

Yes! With our Pro Agency plan, you can upload an Excel (.xlsx) or CSV spreadsheet containing up to 5,000 URLs, Place IDs, or business names. The system processes them in parallel and produces an enriched downloadable spreadsheet with CIDs, Hex values, direct review links, and formatted schema tags.

7. How does the 1-click Google review link generator work?

Instead of sending customers to your main Maps profile where they have to scroll past photos to find the "Write a Review" button, our generator creates a link with the writereview intent (e.g. https://search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid=...). When clicked, the review modal pops up immediately with 5-star rating stars active.

8. Do you have a developer REST API?

Yes! We offer a high-performance REST API with JSON endpoints for URL resolution, business name searching, Place ID mapping, and batch conversions. Check out our interactive API Documentation to test endpoints and view code snippets in Python, Node.js, PHP, and cURL.
